My Blog + Other Fun

Our Yosemite Wedding ⛰

Hello,

If you know me, I'm a bit extra. I mean, I'm a photographer, we love going to crazy places for photos.

I think I kinda forced my husband into this one. I need to do a blog on our wedding day soon!

So many crazy things happened. It deserves its own post.

But here's a few photos!

If you are here for my personal love story.. read on:

Dear Readers, I am so used to capturing others love stories that I had no idea how to start writing for my own .. but this is one for the books… 💍

James + I have always planned on getting married since we started dating 2 years ago. We have known each other for almost 5 years, but it wasn’t God’s timing for us to be together.

First off, when I was young, my favorite boy name was James, I was going to name my first child (if it was a boy, James) yet little did I know what God had in store for me. ☺️

God truly put this man in my life at the right time. HIS time. A man that believes in God + wants our relationship to be in Faith. I am blessed to have met such a man, let alone be honored to become his wife.

Because we discussed marriage so much I told James that when we do get engaged the only person I care about being there is his son Mason. Who I love + adore as if he were my own .

So I planned a last minute hiking trip, not knowing James had the ring for a few months . He knew my love for the ADK + planned on asking me then.

He informed Mason + I had no idea. But Mason loves keeping surprises.

Their code word was : “ Monster Trucks”

We hiked 1.5 miles up Baxter Mtn. and James asks Mason to take a picture of us, then proposes. I laughed at first thinking he was being funny and quickly realized that this was really happening to me in one of my favorite places. Of course I said yes, I almost said no just to trick him but he was so serious and had tears in his eyes that I couldn’t do it.

One of the best parts to this story was me asking Mason if he really wants me to be his step-mom and he shook his head up and down so fast with the biggest smile that I had tears in my eyes.

So here’s to forever and a week.

Here is a few photos of the proposal + engagement session below...

Wedding Ideas... from a photographer

I have worked a few weddings in my lifetime, I used to be an event server before I dedicated all my time to being a photographer.

Sparkler Exit

Look, a sparkler exit never ever gets old! I 100% recommend doing this at your wedding!

Just do NOT run at the photographer, please trust me on that. DO walk slowly and take it all in, maybe even stop in the center for a kiss!

You will thank your photographer later ❤️

Confetti Shower

This is a photographer's dream. We love action + movement!! Besides it captures everyone's laughter and who doesn't love photos with pure joy? For this shot, I lined all the guests up to form an aisle.

*Check if the confetti is bio-degradable and if the venue is cool with it of course!

Then pop away! 💎

Dance Alone

I'm sure you've read on ideas about your first dance, maybe you are 'traditional' and wait until after dinner/or after introductions. There is no right or wrong way.

Or you can choose a late-night dance (alone) while everyone organizes a line-up for your sparkler exit! ✨

Eye-Ring Portrait

My most asked for photo out of any pose. I get asked to do this for almost every couple I've photographed. I just added flare to this one, its fun to do every time! Represent those gorgeous rings + I love the eye colors that pop in these extraordinary pictures! 🥂
